Welcome to the BioSAS Workshop 2010

BioSAS 2010

Small-Angle Scattering is a well-established technique for the investigation of structures in the range of 1-100 nm. In the last few years, the technique has expanded very rapidly in the field of studying the structure of biological macromolecules in solution.

We would hereby like to invite you to a

Practical course on biomacromolecules in solution studied by Small-Angle Scattering.

This 5-day course aims at young scientists (ph.d. students and postdocs) within Life Sciences. However, a few places will be open for scientist from industry.

Basic theory of small-angle X-ray and neutron scattering including instrumentation, data collection and data analysis will be covered in the lectures, practicals and tutorials by some of the world leading experts in the field. As a part of the course, the students will perform SAXS measurements at I711 at MaxLab in Lund, Sweden.

Participants will be selected based on applications (registration is closed). The full workload of the course and workshop amounts to 3 ECTS points (example of letter to certify this from last event in 2007).

When and where: January 17th- 22nd 2010 at the Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Denmark and MaxLab in Lund, Sweden.

Deadline of application: November 15th 2009 at 12pm (midnight) GMT+1.
